Sri Lanka's Sacred Heart

Sri Lanka's Premier Wildlife Experience
Scientific studies confirm Yala Block 1 has the highest density of leopards on Earth — approximately 1 leopard per square kilometer. With over 215 leopards across the park, a leopard safari Sri Lanka experience at Yala offers an 80%+ sighting probability during peak dry season months.
Yala National Park safari expeditions give you the chance to encounter all five of Sri Lanka's iconic species: the Sri Lankan leopard, Asian elephant, sloth bear, mugger crocodile, and wild water buffalo — all within a single Yala safari from Kataragama.
While February to July offers the best safari Sri Lanka conditions with dry weather and concentrated wildlife around water holes, Yala rewards visitors year-round. The park reopens in November after its annual September-October closure for the monsoon.
